We raised a brilliant £310 for the Wrexham branch of the Autistic Society and we received our certificate today!

We will be finished by 7.30pm in readiness for the Wales match!

We had a fantastic morning with Team GB learning about the Paralympic values of Courage, Determination, Equality and Inspiration. Year 5 took part in the workshops and recorded their brilliant goodwill message for the next school.

We are immensely proud of our torch bearers who will forever be known as Guardians of the Flame from now on. These children were chosen because they all embody all or some of the Paralympic values.

Thank you to parents and community friends who also visited and took part – we very much appreciate your involvement.

What a special morning!

Mrs Birchall and I were kindly invited to celebrate the 100th Birthday Party of the Cubs organisation at Wrexham 6th Cubs on Saturday night. Six of our Victoria boys were in attendance looking very smart indeed.

The boys have made a huge commitment to Cubs and partake in a wide variety  of challenging activities. It was great to share the evening with their proud parents. These delightful boys also possess lots character and determination in class. Well done.

Mr Evans jumped from 10,000 feet on Friday to raise money for our school minibus. With current funds that have been raised by the Friends of Victoria and the proceeds from the skydive we are getting close to reaching our target. Thank you for all your kind donations – we have looked into buying one for September. Exciting times!

We will be saying goodbye to two amazing colleagues this week. Mr James Jones who has been a teacher at Victoria for 11 years will be leaving us to take up a Deputy Headship at Wat’s Dyke School. Mr Jones has been working on secondment for GWE for the past two years. We wish him every success in the future.

We will also be saying goodbye to Mrs Grace Keeling who has been a dedicated teaching assistant for many years at Victoria. MRs Keeling started at Victoria about 20 years ago and has been a pupil champion for so many children over the years.

We will miss you both very much.

 

Well done to Fabiana & Joel Gomes, Ellen Marie Simmonds and Kholud Sarkar for winning the poster competition! We will be going down to WHSmith next week to choose some supplies for school!

Megan Kendall has excelled in the Cambridge University, Newnham College Engineering Prize for her essay on Solar Energy. Megan came third in the competition that recognises academic excellence and which draws its applications from some of the best sixth minds in the subject. This achievement brings with it an invitation to visit the college and £100. This certainly strengthens her application to Cambridge next year but, of course, is a great achievement in its own right. Well done Megan!
