As part of our three year project with Sustrans Active Journeys, we are encouraging as many pupils as possible to actively travel to school. In school we have organised scooter workshops for Tuesday 21st March (letters to be given out on Monday) to ensure our children are safe and respectful on their scooters and to encourage more pupils to use them to travel to school.

At the moment 38% of our children actively travel to school and Sustrans have an ambitious target to aim for 50%!

So, we have planned a ‘Big Shift’ week in school from Monday 27th – Friday 31st March to see if we can get 50% of pupils travelling to school actively.

We have purchased scooter racks in school to accommodate all the extra scooters that will hopefully be used in the future!

Each class will be collecting travel data during the week and the winning class will be receiving a very special prize!

Even 1 active journey to school during the week will make a difference.

We had a fantastic Eisteddfod in school this week organised by Mrs Andrews. Well done to everyone who entered the competitions – the standard was very high this year. Well done to Aran House who won the Eisteddfod Shield. Here are some of our winners:

We are so proud of our ‘Hoola Team’ for taking part in a series of workshops and working so brilliantly as a team to produce their amazing assembly today. Thank you to Sasha for working with the team. You were all amazing.

A big well done to our fantastic junior choir for taking part in the St. David’s Day Parade today. What a brilliant way to celebrate Dewi Sant. Da iawn pawb!

A big well done to Amber Rose Salon who won 2nd prize in the best St. David’s Day shop window display. Thank you to Amber, Isobel and friends for helping out with the fantastic decorations.

We will be celebrating World Book Day on Friday 10th March. Pupils can dress up as their favourite book character if they wish and we are asking all pupils to bring in their favourite book to share. We are also holding an optional photo competition of pupils reading in an unusual place. Please send photos to my dojo feed or send to school – [email protected] by Wednesday 8th March.
