We had a fantastic time watching the Mother Touch Dance Group from Zimbabwe. They were so energetic!

We had a fantastic sports day and it was brilliant to see all the children taking part and trying their very best. We had many ambitious and capable athletes who amazed us with their determined mindset. Well done to Eryri – the winning house!! Ella and Mitchell have been super house captains and were very proud to win the cup on behalf of Eryri! Da iawn pawb!

 

Little Treasures and the staff won first prize in  the ‘Most Inspired use of a story’ competition by creating a scrapbook using the book 10 Little Dinosaurs as part of the Wrexham Early Years Celebration event.

We were able to document a wide variety of learning  experiences for the children all inspired by the story and the prize was a fantastic teepee, story books and puppets

We had a lovely time at the Singing Streets launch with Ysgol Bodhyfryd. Our choir sang beautifully as usual – well done all. Save the date – Saturday 28th September 2019.

Victoria Primary School

We are delighted with such a positive report, which reflects our ambitious and capable learners – who behave well, who are resilient, and who have extremely positive attitudes towards their learning. Nearly all pupils feel safe and secure at Victoria CP School and most know who to talk to if they are worried or upset- the children are confident that their opinions are listened to. The report continues to highlight that nearly all pupils are polite and courteous, and their positive behaviour is a notable feature in lessons and around the school.

We were pleased that our innovative and forward thinking practices were highlighted as impacting favourably on the well-being and standards of our pupils. The inspectors saw many examples of imaginative and interesting activities across all year groups and commented frequently on the positive learning climate at Victoria CP. Our staff expertise and willingness to share good practice across the region and country was also mentioned in the report, which reflects the staff’s passion towards teaching and learning and their commitment to educational reforms happening in Wales at the moment.

The report identifies that the headteacher has established a clear vision for the school, which is based on developing pupils to the best of their ability in a happy, supportive and exciting environment. School leaders, including governors, have worked successfully with the whole school community to establish an effective learning environment for staff and pupils.

We were particularly pleased that the team recognised the value of our close working relationships with parents/carers and the clear systems of communication within our school community. We are very proud of the excellent relationship we have with our parents – they are important partners in their child’s education and support the school brilliantly.

We will now be working on our recommendations to improve our school even further.

A diolch mawr to all of our fantastic pupils who entered the Eisteddfod competitions and to those who were shortlisted in the 1st round prelims. We were blown away with all of the singers, reciters and musicians yesterday. We have so many talented and ambitious children at Victoria – well done. Announcements are still being made and we will publish a list of all winners by the end of the week.

Well done to our drama club who put on a great show last night! You are all certainly the ‘cool’ kids! Well done for working so hard. Thank you to Miss Anderton for inspiring the children.

 

Our amazing drama group thoroughly enjoyed Theatre Clwyd’s Outreach performance and workshops relating to Junior Justice. There were some very hard-hitting themes and issues that were explored in a highly informative and dynamic way. Our pupils were brilliant, knowledgeable and contributed well to the issues of young people and the law! Da iawn.

The children had a brilliant time at Glan LLyn! Their behavior was exceptional and their excellent use of Welsh was commented on regularly. Well done blwyddyn 5!
