Let’s Make our School even more Healthier!

Dear Parents

We have noticed that in the junior department we are very unhealthy when it comes to our snacks. In Victoria, children start making healthy habits in the infant classes as they are not allowed unhealthy snacks and we have decided that we should be carrying this through into our junior classes.

We know that crisps, chocolate and sweets contain too much salt and sugar; this in turn damages our bodies. We are growing and we want to grow up making healthy choices. After all healthy choices lead to healthy habits in later life. We want to be healthy adults.

As a result, we have decided that we are going to ban unhealthy snacks in our school after half term. We want to see healthy snacks on our playground, such as fruit, cereal bars (without chocolate!), yoghurts, water, milk, cheese pieces, cucumber etc.

We really hope that you support us and help us to make healthy choices.

Thank you,

The Healthy Schools Committee

Victoria’s Lightning Sparks

Well, our F1 team have been incredibly busy designing, engineering and creating their Jaguar model for tomorrow’s F1 competition in Llandudno.

Well done to Lottie, Declan, Sohaib, Charlie, Vilas and Charlotte who have all had important roles in the creation of the Jaguar model.

Many thanks to Mrs Andrews for supporting the children throughout the process and a huge thanks to our sponsors – Saplings Nursery, Candy Craft and Lavender Nails and Beauty – we are very grateful for your sponsorship.

Blwyddyn 6 at Cardiff

We had a fantastic time at Cardiff. We learnt so much about our Welsh history, culture and heritage. The children were very well behaved and we had lots of comments about their excellent knowledge and enthusiasm during the trip. Da iawn blwyddyn 6!

RimboJam

Our Year 5 children had a brilliant time at the William Aston Hall watching the RimboJam!

Eco Council News

Our Eco Council have been busy tidying up the school grounds.

Digital Leaders

Mr Potts and the children have been looking at how computers work. They have been dismantling all the parts and putting them back together again!!

Book Shadowing

The Victoria Flyers have been reading two very challenging texts to enable them to vote for their favourite in the Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Book Awards in June. They will work alongside Ceci Jenkinson (our Reading Champion) who will put the children through their paces with questions and activities. Well done children – you have worked independently on this project! Da iawn! Thank you Scarlett for the biccies and badges!!
